The cost benefit of supported housing provision
A 2023 study from Imogen Blood and Associates, commissioned by the NHF (National Housing Federation) estimate the costs of supporting a homeless person to be £32512 per year (health, homelessness, drug/alcohol and criminal justice costs).
The cost of supporting someone through housing is £21,000 per year – a saving to the state of £11,512 per person, per year.
